4 Things to Do in Napa Valley This Fall

You might think that the best time of year to visit Napa Valley, California is during the summer when the region has a lot going on or during the winter when the climate is less severe. Actually, the best time to visit Napa Valley is in the fall. The region’s weather is primarily mild, but in the fall, there’s quite a bit to experience.

1. Get the most out of your wine experience, during harvest.
The peak of wine harvest takes place August through October, just when fall is gettin ready to set in. It may not be the fall foliage you’re experiencing quite yet, but the hustle and bustle of harvest underway is truly a memorable experience. Watch as winemakers pick the grapes from their vines when they’re at their perfect sugar levels, and watch as trucks sweep through the vines and take grapes back to the winery to start the process of winemaking.

During this time, harvest family-friendly events are well underway. It’s a perfect time to bring the kids.

2. Ride the aerial gondola up to Sterling Vineyards and watch the changing the leaves.
The greatest part about fall is the way the leaves change over time. You can experience the vibrant, bursting hues of reds, golds, and oranges as you ride up the aerial gondola to Sterling Vineyards. 4. Take a scenic Napy Valley train ride.
