Day Trips to Take From Eureka Springs, AR

There is plenty to do in Eureka Springs, Arkansas including shopping in the historic downtown area, ziplining in the nearby forest, staying in romantic Eureka Springs cabins, and taking a ride on the railway and seeing the castle. If you are planning a trip to the city, then you may want to also consider making some day trips. Here are four locations you may want to consider.

Branson, Missouri
Located just 52 miles northeast of Eureka Springs, Branson, Missouri, is a community with many live shows. Root for the north or the south while watching amazing horses perform at the Dolly Parton’s Stampede. Hear awesome country music groups perform. See live magic shows. Do not leave Branson, however, without visiting the city’s unique museums including the Titanic Museum, the Veterans Memorial Museum and the World’s Largest Toy Museum. Play to your heart’s content at Silver Dollar City or opt to tour their cave or take a cooking class.

Bentonville, Arkansas
Start your day in Bentonville with a visit to the Walmart Museum located in the same location as the very first Walmart store. Then, venture over to see the Crystal Bridges Museum of Art including a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Learn about the Native Americans that first called this area home at the Museum of Native American History. Finish your day with a tour of the Peel Mansion Museum and a stroll through their beautiful gardens.

Gentry, Arkansas
If you love wild animals, then make sure to plan a day to visit Gentry, Arkansas, that is located about 60 miles southeast of Eureka Springs. Stop at the Wild Wilderness Drive-Through Safari where you can pet four species of monkeys, donkeys, giraffes and kangaroos before driving through the remainder of the park where you will encounter lions, tigers, bears and many other animals. More than 160 downtown businesses make this a great place to shop. Long’s Old Orchard & Farms has exciting trade days on the first Friday of each month and many things to do the rest of the year.

Paris, Arkansas
Enjoy the beautiful drive about 85 miles south of Eureka Springs to Paris, Arkansas. Leave time to enjoy the beautiful scenery in the Ozark National Forest on your way. Once you arrive, take a tour of the Arkansas Historic Wine Museum to learn how wine has been made in the Ozark foothills for centuries. Then, embark on a scenic drive allowing you to see four wineries and taste free samples. Wiederkehr Wine Cellars is the oldest and largest winery in the Ozarks, and it was started in 1880. Enjoy shopping at the gift shop at Post Winery while sipping on a glass of their red wine. Taste why many consider the fruit wines produced in the Ozarks the best in the United States before ending the day by sipping on a glass of wine on top of gorgeous St. Mary’s Mountain at Chateau Aux Arc.
