Gatlinburg, Tennessee is known for a lot things: the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains, outdoor activities and the wedding captial of the South. Gatlinburg’s attractions await visitors for an exciting, unique experience. For thsoe looking to vacation in the heart of the Great Smokey Mountains, there are several entertainment outelts and events happening every day in Gatlinburg.

It’s home to the famous Dollywood theme park, which attracts hundreds of families every day. The theme park includes the main park and a water park (Dolly’s Splash Country).

If you’re headed out to the Smoky Mountains in the winter, a top priority for vacationers is hitting the slopes at Ober Gatlinburg. Naturally, live entertainment fills the air with old fashioned Tennessee country hits, delicious southern food, and thrilling rides. Another recent attraction is Ripley’s Aquarium, and interactive, colorful marine wildlife experience right in the Smokies. Whether you’re a child or an adult, this newly constructed attraction is not only educational, but exciting and memorable.

Visiting Gatlinburg does not mean you have to visit any of the nearby attractions (though it’s certainly highly recommended). There’s nothing wrong with visiting to simply relax and take in the breathtaking views of the mountains and scenery. Tourists often explore the Smokey Mountains with a scenic mountain drive, exploring the trails and beautiful waterfalls. Resorts and cabins often come with spa packages, too, so relaxation is not hard to come by. Hikers are encouraged to explore the Forbidden Caverns and Tuckaleechee Caverns, walk the many trails, hoseback ride and mountain climb.
