Haunted Sites in Cape May, NJ

Cape May, New Jersey has a rich history. All throughout the year they have different events that allow you to step back in time and learn more about the history of the area and how it plays a part in the history of the United States. This time of year, however, Cape May is showing off its most haunted spots, some of them are even places you can stay in. Cape May is one of the most haunted places in the United States. If your inner thrill-seeker just got excited, then put these on your “must do” list:

  • Emlen Physick Estate: This 1879 Victorian house is the former Estate of Emlen Physick, now turned museum, or maybe not so former. It is claimed the members of Emlen Physick’s family, such as his aunt and the family dogs, still linger in the house. They are all happy welcoming spirits however. This house is considered Cape May’s original haunted house so it is a definite must see.


  • Ghosts of Cape May Trolley Tour: This little gem allows you to go on a tour of Cape May with Craig McManus as your guide. Craig McManus is a psychic medium who identified most of the spirits on Cape May. Sit back and ride along as he re-tells is experiences with the ghosts and where exactly they reside.


  • Ghosts of the Lighthouse Trolley Tour: This Trolley Tour most specifically focuses on the spirits of the lighthouse.   • A Walk with the Ghost Writer: If you are feeling a little more brave then this is the tour for you. Take this informative stroll at night and you might get a bit of interaction with the spirits themselves.
