Places To Grab A Drink In Downtown Santa Barbara, CA

You can’t easily describe Santa Barbara without using the word unique. The city is a combination of Spanish style, hip restaurants, and sunny Californians. It’s a great place to go in California when you want to get away from busy Los Angeles. One of the best things to do in downtown Santa Barbara is to visit their many pubs, bars, and breweries. Here are some of the best places to grab a quick drink, or stay for the whole night, in downtown Santa Barbara.

The Good Lion

If you’re getting bored of your drink of choice, The Good Lion is a great place to try something new. Their drink menu is an array of creative cocktails that changes weekly and a list of California beers and wines. They focus on using real fruits, herbs, and spices for their drink infusions to bring out the flavors of Southwest Europe and Mediterranean Africa. They also offer tapas and small plates.

Casa Blanca

Casa Blanca doesn’t just have one of the best margaritas in Santa Barbara, they also offer delicious Mexican dishes. The Restaurant and Cantina is a local favorite with happy hour 3 p.m.-close Mon.-Sat. and all day Sunday. Their tacos pair great with their over 120 varieties of Tequila.

The Red Piano

The Red Piano claims itself as one of the liveliest bars in downtown Santa Barbara. They feature live piano bar style music every night and happy hour 5-7 p.m. Tues. – Sat. Their drink menu includes handcrafted cocktails, beer, and wine. It’s a great place to dance it out after a long day and support local musicians.

The Press Room

The Press Room is the token English bar in Santa Barbara and a great place to grab a Guinness. If you’re a soccer fan, The Press Room always has a game on as fans sip their great selection of English beers. The crowd is always lively, the Jukebox plays the classics, and there’s usually live Alternative bands.

The Endless Summer Bar-Cafe

Beach lovers unite at this local seafood and drink spot in downtown Santa Barbara. The surfboard decor and fresh seafood dishes speak to the laid back Santa Barbara beach culture. The happy hour is Mon.-Fri. 3-6 p.m. which includes cheap Margaritas, Mai Tai’s, and oysters. The filmmaker of the movie Endless Summer, Bruce Brown, has even been seen at the bar.
