A Romantic Getaway to The Grand Canyon

Valentine’s Day is a time to show your significant other just how much they mean to you, and what better way to do so than a weekend getaway to one of the most breathtaking places in the country. The Grand Canyon offers amazing views of the natural phenomenon from all sides, giving you and your loved one plenty of opportunities for amazing sunsets, explorations, and adventures.

Kaibab Trail

If you want to get some physical activity in on your getaway, a hike down into the canyon could be for you. This trail descends into the canyon, offering breathtaking views that provide a better understanding of the vastness of the canyon. The short hike makes a world of difference in the scenery; seeing the canyon from a slightly different perspective can change so much of the view. If you are not interested in hiking the canyon, you can look into mule rides which will also take you down into the canyon for these same sights.

Art Exhibits

With such beautiful scenery, The Grand Canyon has provided photographers with some amazing photographs. Many of these photographs are featured in the Kolb Studio and definitely worth a visit. These pictures capture the beauty of the canyon in a variety of lights and seasons, showing you how the canyon has looked and changed.

Watching the Sunrise

If you set out to watch the sunrise or sunset with your significant other, there is no way you will be disappointed. There are no bad places to see the sunrise, only good places and better places. Try to find a viewpoint that jets out into the canyon and has views to both the east and the west. Hopi Point is one of the most popular viewpoints for sunsets, so it attracts crowds of people. The Yaki and Yavapai points also offer spectacular views of the canyon and sunset and are often less crowded. If you want a more diverse view and see beautiful stretches of the river below as well, try the Lipan, Navajo, and Desert viewpoints.

If you decide to take a trip with your loved one this Valentine’s Day to The Grand Canyon, you won’t be disappointed. The breathtaking views are unparalleled and the Arizona weather is a little warmer than some northern states this time of year. Take this opportunity to take your loved one somewhere really special this year!
