Spend a Romantic Weekend on Cape Cod

By its very nature, Cape Cod lends itself to being a romantic destination, attracting couples and newlyweds from all over. Once the canal that separates the arm-shaped peninsula from mainland Massachusetts has been crossed, there’s a sense of leaving all the noise and worries of daily life behind while being embraced by a place that can be the perfect hideaway for romantic couples.

Quaint Towns & Villages

There are so many beautiful small towns and coastal inlets that are worth visiting on Cape Cod. Perched right on the elbow of the cape, Chatham is one of the many places that makes Cape Cod so unique and romantic. Small shops, great restaurants, and romantic hotels makes it a great place for couples. Another great town only 20 minutes from Chatham is Brewster, MA. The town of Brewster is home to several parks and has a lot of history behind it that you can get to know. A tourist favorite is Candleberry Inn, a bed and breakfast in Brewster, MA that is in the center of Old King’s Highway Historic District.

Woods Hole

The tiny village of Woods Hole is thought of by many as the place to catch the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard, but it holds plenty of charm for couples too. For bicycle enthusiasts, the ten miles of the Shining Sea Bike Path goes by panoramic vistas of Nantucket Sound and some incredible marshland as it winds up through the Village of Falmouth where Liam Macgire’s Irish Pub offers up a well-poured and refreshing pint. When it’s breakfast time, walk a few steps up Water Street to Pie In The Sky for a hearty egg sandwich and coffee from in-house roasted beans.

To really get away from it all, take a ferry or plane over to the island of Nantucket and have breakfast at Black-Eyed Susan’s, lunch at Arno’s, and dinner at Brotherhood of Thieves. Spend the day exploring all the shops along the cobblestoned streets downtown, and spend the night at the Jared Coffin House . No matter how you get there, take the slow ferry back to Cape Cod to stretch the good vibes as long as possible.

Golf options abound on Cape Cod. The nine-hole course behind the Wayside Inn in Chatham is a great place to have some golf fun without busting the bank. Falmouth Country Club has 27 enticing holes that wind through some lovely woodlands. In North Falmouth, Ballymeade is a scenic layout that has plenty of tee options to accommodate all skill levels.
